The Information Technology department includes technical support services, and educational technology initiatives. Technical Support is provided for internal operations at LEARN and its programs throughout the region; the Regional Multicultural Magnet School (RMMS), The Friendship School (TFS), Dual Language and Arts Magnet Middle School (DL&AMMS), and the Marine Science Magnet High School (MSMHS). This includes network support, software applications, Internet, E-mail access, and telecommunications services. A technical support Help Desk and Hotline for emergencies has improved efforts to maintain continuity of use of equipment and network in all of our locations.
LEARN has updated all servers to Windows 2008, Windows 2008 R2, Windows 2012 and Windows 2012 R2. The infrastructure has been upgraded to include the latest in wireless technologies, up to and including the new standard AC. LEARN has increased the server capacity from 20 servers to 34 servers and virtual servers. The new capacity will decrease any possible downtime as most servers can be moved to a new virtual machine.
A new tutorial website has been added. This site has videos designed to train users on some configurations and knowledge for both Windows and OSX. This site is at it.learn.k12.ct.us.
Information Technology provides technical support to outside agencies as well as several local school districts. LEARN is available to consult with districts on networking, website design, and any other custom technology solutions.

RESC Alliance: Technology
Serving as the lead agency, LEARN collaborates with the five other RESC's to provide statewide technology services through a federal Title II, Enhancing Education Through Technology grant awarded by the CSDE. Focusing on statewide professional development activities, the Alliance of RESCs offers numerous technology integration workshops, school-based services, and technical assistance to districts. The RESC Alliance continues to explore new options for training and services, assists the CSDE with grant reading, and conducts state-wide focus groups to understand the current status of technology integration in Connecticut. LEARN coordinates the grant and served as fiscal agent.
